Using the school inspection handbook, Fiona will talk through the inspection process; how governors and trustees are involved, and how governance is inspected. These sessions will support those responsible for governance to understand their roles and responsibilities, and how to carry these out effectively.

Fiona is an independent education consultant. She has been involved in education and learning for nearly 40 years. Fiona is committed to supporting leaders to provide a well-rounded and high-quality education in their settings that ensures the best outcomes for every child.

Fiona has highly developed skills and knowledge of inspections and school improvement. Fiona was previously an HMI for education. During her six years with Ofsted, she led over 150 inspections in all sectors of education: nursery, primary, secondary, non-association independent schools, initial teacher training and alternative provision. Fiona continues to inspect schools across all phases as a contracted Ofsted inspector. As such, she keeps up to date with the latest requirements of Ofsted’s framework.
