This event focuses on how safeguarding should be intertwined and embedded into every aspect of day-to-day school life. You will have the opportunity to take part in two key interactive workshops to support your understanding of how to create a culture of safeguarding in your school. This event demonstrates how a whole-school approach linked to governance, legal frameworks, Ofsted and multi-agency working should work together to create a robust school culture of vigilance.

Workshop 1: Awareness of Safeguarding Risk

In this session we will focus on our legal duty of care, changes in ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education 2022’, identifying and responding to potential harm and updates on key national safeguarding themes including:

  • Child-on-child abuse, including sexual violence & sexual harassment
  • Domestic abuse
  • Students with additional vulnerabilities, including LGBTQ+ and SEND

Workshop 2: Allegations Against Staff

In this session we will focus on the legal framework, what effective staff professional behaviour and whistleblowing policies should cover, low level concerns, the harms threshold and the importance of creating a culture of vigilance.

Our Delivery Partner – ECP (Education Child Protection)

Our safeguarding training is led by our delivery partner, ECP (Education Child Protection). ECP are part of a network of trained and accredited facilitators. Your training will meet the standards required by the DfE in Keeping Children Safe in Education 2022. You can be assured that their content is up to date, relevant and sector specific.
